The Power of a Deadline - Sometimes, the only way to get moving is to give yourself a no-excuses deadline. Angela committed to being a host for the annual Bordentown Historical House Tour in Bordentown City, NJ. Forcing her to make decisions, (within 2 Months} to get creative, and finally bring her ideas to life. And it worked!
That looming tour date became the catalyst for transformation.
Letting Go of “Should” - One of Angela’s most powerful shifts? Letting go of other people’s expectations.
As a decorative painter, many assumed her home would be perfectly styled. But perfection can be paralyzing.
Instead, she chose bold over safe, comfort over conformity. In one room, she covered everything — walls, ceiling, and trim — in a deep, moody teal, creating a luxurious, cocoon-like speakeasy vibe. The result? Absolutely stunning.
Turning Memory Into Art - Perhaps the most touching transformation came from a dusty old box of Saturday Evening Post magazines Angela found as a little girl. After decades in storage, she finally gave them the spotlight they deserved—framing them to create a one-of-a-kind vintage gallery wall.
The mix of mid-century and Victorian styles reminded her of something essential:
